The Portuguese Association of Information Systems (PTAIS) is a technical-scientific association formed following a set of interactions among the stakeholders in the field of information systems linked to higher education institutions.
The main objectives of PTAIS are:
• To bring the community interested in the management and development of information systems;
• Stimulate research and knowledge sharing in the field of information systems;
• Establish links with other related technical-scientific communities, national or foreign;

PTAIS members fall into two categories:
• Personalities (Per) – (e.g., faculty, researchers, technicians, students) or any individuals interested in pursuing PTAIS goals.
• Institutions of Higher Education (HEI) – with interests in research and teaching in the field of information systems.
The Portuguese Association of Information Systems presents a portal in which they present their main ideas, work and research groups, resources used and their community, as well as conferences related to this subject.
